German mezzo-soprano Julia Helena Bernhart graduated in singing from the University «Mendelssohn-Bartholdy» in Leipzig. She was a member of the Young Singer Project of the Salzburg Festival, under the musical direction of Daniele Gatti and the production of Stefan Herheim.

 

Winner of numerous competitions for young artists, her repertoire includes works by W. A. Mozart, G. Rossini, G.F. Händel, as well as an extensive concert program. She regularly holds lieder recitals and concerts and has been a soloist with Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the Glocke Bremen, the NDR Funkhaus Hannover and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg.

 

Recently Julia Helena sang Papagena in Zauberflöte at the Young Bregenz Festival, Tisbe in Cenerentola at the Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro Donizetti Bergamo and Teatro Regio di Parma, the role of Thruth in G. F. Händel's oratorio The Triumph of Time and Truth at the Oper oder Spree Festival in Neuzelle (D) and Cleone in Alessandro by G. F. Händel at the Theater Bamberg with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie conducted by Gottfried von der Goltz.

Future engagements include zweite Dame in Zauberflöte with the Opera Lombardia  in Como, Brescia, Cremona and Pavia.

In addition, Julia has been on stage and in front of the camera since the age of six and has worked internationally as a successful model and actress. She is also a therapist and has been coaching artists, athletes and high performers since eight years. 

This combination makes her an exceptionally charismatic person on stage and a great colleague, which is extremely important in this profession.
